First of all imagine seeing your parents running around as toddlers! Similarly, finally meet that grandparent you’ve heard the stories about! Imagine reliving that nativity play you were in at school, or seeing your grown up child again as a new born baby! My format conversion service will certainly bring history to life and restore your material for new and future generations.

Stuart Bailey Media can transfer all of the following formats to DVD or USB Memory stick/hard drive* as a digital video file (allowing you to watch on your smart TV/computer or to upload and share your video with family on Facebook or YouTube):

VHS & SVHS, 8mm / Hi8 / Digi8, VHS-C, MiniDV, HDV

Prices are based on the running time of the material. A £20 minimum charge covers up to 2 hours of footage. Subsequent rates are £5 per half hour. Please contact me for a more precise quote based on your specific requirements.

Echoes of the Past

I can also digitise audio cassette tapes for you – The audio is captured at the highest available sampling rate and given a once-over to clean up any hiss, etc before being delivered on CD, as both compressed .mp3 and uncompressed .wav digital files via download or to a memory stick*, depending on what you’d like.

*You can provide your own or I can include a 32gb USB3.0 memory stick for an additional £5. Download options are also available.

Slide, Negative and Print Scanning

Another service I can provide is to digitise your old negatives, slides or photos and put them on disc, memory stick/hard drive or download for you in JPG (for viewing/sharing) or TIF (editable) formats. I perform this using a professional scanner, which allows me to produce very high resolution files with vast amounts of detail.

Photo Retouching and Restoration

Furthermore, my format conversion process also applies to damaged photos. I will carefully take your negative or photograph and perform a High-Resolution scan to create a digital file. This will be edited using the latest professional software programs, followed by a painstaking reconstruction of the image to produce something you didn’t think possible! Tears will disappear, scratches and mould spots will vanish and the colours will be restored as closely as possible to what would have been their natural state. This can be very intensive work depending on how badly degraded the original image is. Prices are based on an hourly rate of £25, although it can be difficult to provide an entirely accurate quote before the restoration is started.
